What is the PROMETA Treatment Program?

PROMETA is an integrated, physician-based treatment program that is designed to target the adverse changes in brain chemistry that occur with alcohol abuse , cocaine, or methamphetamine (meth) addiction.

Unlike traditional "drug rehab" or "alcohol detox," PROMETA treatments are generally performed in an outpatient setting and typically require just 3 visits* for the initial treatment, followed by one month of prescription medications and nutritional supplements as well as ongoing professional counseling.

The PROMETA Treatment Programs include:

  1. The initial treatment involves prescription medication and nutritional supplements administered in a physician-supervised setting.
  2. The patient then receives one month of prescription medications and nutritional supplements.
  3. Professional counseling following the initial treatment typically includes individual and/or group therapy.

There are Two PROMETA Treatments:

*Treatment for cocaine or methamphetamine dependence includes a second physician-supervised treatment of 2 visits on consecutive days, about 3 weeks after the initial treatment.

Breaking the Cycle of Dependence

Repeated drug use causes brain adaptations that produce cravings , leading to more drug use. PROMETA is an integrated, physician-based that is designed to help reduce your cravings and reverse some brain adaptations, helping maintain your abstinence.
